About BackToIndia
A small, independent team helping NRI families make calmer, better-informed decisions about visitor health insurance - without the sales call.

Why we built this
Most of us moved to the US years ago. When our parents started visiting, we ran into the same wall every time: dozens of look-alike comparison websites, aggressive sales calls, and policy documents written in language that hides the parts that matter most. Choosing a plan for someone you love shouldn't feel like a high-pressure pitch.
BackToIndia exists to flatten that experience. We read the policy wordings, organise the tradeoffs, and present 2–3 plans that genuinely fit a family's situation - with the catches surfaced before purchase, not discovered at claim time.
Who runs this
BackToIndia is operated by a small editorial and engineering team based in the US and India. Each plan summary on this site is written or reviewed by a human editor who has read the underlying policy wording. We're happy to put a name behind any specific recommendation - write to us and we'll route you to the editor responsible.
Our principles
- Sources, not vibes. Every plan attribute on this site is taken from the insurer's own policy wording or brochure, with the source linked.
- Tradeoffs are part of the recommendation. Every plan has weaknesses. We surface them - pre-existing condition limits, sub-limits, network gaps - before you decide.
- If nothing fits, we'll say so. For some health profiles, no visitor plan is a good answer. We'd rather tell you that than push something flawed.
- Editorial independence. Plan rankings are produced by our matching engine using publicly documented criteria - not by who pays us. See our methodology and editorial policy for the full picture, including how we handle commercial relationships.
